FAQ
Delivery
Postage and packaging charges for all deliveries within the United Kingdom are free of charge.
For all International orders, delivery charges will be confirmed at the checkout page. All orders will be sent out with a tracking number which will be emailed to the customer once sent. Please note that shipment to non UK countries may be subject to import duties and tax. Additional charges must be paid by the customer. Tapedeck Art has no control over these additional charges and therefore bears no responsibility.
We aim to dispatch print only orders within 4 days. For framed prints, due to the extra work involved, these will take a little longer and we aim to dispatch them within 21 days.
Please bear in mind most items are from small run editions so we may sell out of certain items at particularly busy periods, if this happens we will contact the customer with 24 hours of placing an order.
Damaged Items
If any item arrives damaged please contact us immediately and keep the item and packaging used. Please photograph the damaged item and email us. A replacement will be dispatched after we have received the damaged item back or after advice from the Courier/Royal Mail. Please wait for our instructions before returning the item to us.
For damaged items please return the goods to us within 14 days, we will then offer to send you a replacement. In some cases the print you purchased may no longer be available as once an edition is sold out it cannot be reproduced. If this is the case you will be refunded in full.
Lost Items
An item is not classified as "Lost" by Royal Mail until it has been missing for 15 working days. For Special Delivery items the period is 15 working days and for international items it is 30 working days. If you still haven't received them after this time period, please contact us ( per our email address )
Items returned to us by the postal service marked as not called for or unclaimed by the receiver will require additional postage costs to be paid before we can resend.
We cannot be held responsible if a parcel has gone missing due to the postal address being filled in incorrectly or missing important information. However, if we notice the address is incomplete, we will contact you before dispatch.
Copyright
All artwork for sale on the site has been originated by Tape deck art with inspiration being taken from event tickets and pin badges over the decades. In Andy Warhol's 'Campbell's Soup' tradition we are not trying to pass these off as the real thing. The paintings, models and prints are the copyright of the artist.
In the visual arts, to appropriate means to adopt, borrow, recycle or sample aspects (or the entire form) of man-made visual culture. The term appropriation refers to the use of borrowed elements in the creation of a new work (as in 'the artist uses appropriation') or refers to the new work itself (as in 'this is a piece of appropriation art'). The artist who uses appropriation may borrow image, sound, objects, forms or styles from art history or popular culture or other aspects of man made visual culture. Inherent in the process of appropriation is the fact that the new work recontextualizes whatever it borrows to create the new work. In most cases the original 'thing' remains accessible as the original, without change.
